SUNRISE, SUNSET.©
A   poem   by Caroline Street.

Have you ever truly noticed the palette in the sky,
The creation of dusk and twilight up high?
Phenomena unseen by those who rush by.
Who else would greet the Earth in such fine form,
Only He who abides in the celestial skies.

A divine spectacle is the birth of dawn;
Prevailing darkness disperses and we welcome morn.
Swathes of purple and pink are skilfully spread;
God's ''good morning to you," treat!
On the horizon, a rising orb of quivering heat;
Its glow reduces matter to silhouette.
The sun's rays, a bastion of hope for the day ahead.

Come sunset and the phenomenon is reversed;
Lavish strokes of orange, purple
And crimson embellish the Earth.
Dusk unfurls its final majesty;
Ephemeral clouds, tips edged with gold
Perform their final gracious bows.
The warmth of the day turns refreshingly cool
As darkness fades the colours of sunset;
The day is now at its restful best
And the Creator lays His paintbrush to rest. ❤
